Most parents start out with a list of twenty models. Yet one question decides almost everything: Do you need a carrycot?
The first six months: lying flat
Newborns should lie flat. For this, a combination stroller comes with a carrycot (a lie-flat bassinet), which is later swapped for a seat unit. So you're buying one frame for the whole stroller phase – from day one until around 3 years or 22 kg.
Once they can sit: buggy
Once your child can sit up unaided (usually from 6 months), a buggy is enough. It weighs 6–9 kg instead of 11–14 kg, folds smaller and fits in almost any boot. Many families use both: the combination stroller for everyday life, a buggy as a second stroller for holidays and for Grandma's.
Three questions that decide the rest
- Where will you be pushing it? City with kerbs and trains: light and manoeuvrable. Countryside, dirt tracks, cobblestones: big wheels, suspension.
- How will the stroller get into the car? Measure the folded dimensions and your boot – you'll find the folded dimensions in the spec sheet of every stroller we sell.
- Who's pushing? If the two parents are very different heights, a height-adjustable handlebar is worth it.
What we do differently at Buggino
Every model has a spec sheet with the details the supplier actually provides. If a detail is missing, we say so openly in the ‘To be honest’ section – instead of making up a number. On top of that, there's the 30-day test drive: if the stroller doesn't fit into your everyday life, we'll take it back.
